MASTER OF SCIENCE IN OPERATIONS RESEARCH AND ANALYTICS (COURSEWORK)

This programme aims to produce graduates who possess in-depth knowledge and skills for scientific and analytical decision making through quantitative and data science techniques, and are able to construct, analyze and visualize models for the best decision in various fields especially industry.

The goal is to turn data into information and information into knowledge, then knowledge into insights and insights into decision, using appropriate quantitative and data science techniques.

  • To provide graduates with strong scientific and quantitative knowledge as well as analytical skills to solve problems.

  • To equip graduates with digital and numeracy skills in delivering the proposed solutions effectively.

  • To produce graduates with strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to meet the needs of the industries.

  • To offer professional graduates in making ethically well-supported decisions and equipped with entrepreneurial skills.

  • A Bachelor’s degree with Honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the University Senate with a CGPA of at least 2.75; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the University Senate with a CGPA of 2.00 to 2.74 and relevant work experience; OR

  • A Diploma from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the University Senate with at least ten (10) years of relevant work experience, 35 years or older and passed APEL assessment (level 7); OR

  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the University Senate; AND

  • Fulfil the English language requirement as set by the University Senate.

This programme is offered by coursework. Students are required to complete at least 41 credit hours, which comprises the following:
