Norhaslinda is currently Associate Professor and a researcher in the Decision Science Department, School of Quantitative Sciences at the Universiti Utara Malaysia. Her research interests lies in the use of system dynamics simulation to varying policy-level issues such as in health, agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, and public policy. Domains have included the studies on health such as obesity, tobacco and dengue; waiting time of vehicle inspection; palm oil and paddy agriculture; road congestion and planning; takaful insurance; and time completion in manufacturing. Her work often involves the integration of system dynamics with multiple modeling methods [e.g. Genetic Algorithmn, Artificial Neural Network, The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Linear Programming, and Discrete Event Simulation (DES)] where the aim is to provide robust decision support tools. In recent research of simulation problems, real cases are more prominent since the problems are more complex thus represent real situation. Dr. Ali Fareed JameelAssociate Fellowalifareed@uum.edu.my
Ph.D (Mathematics) (USM)
M.Sc. (Mathematics and Computer Applications Statistics) (Al-Nahrain University, Iraq)
B.Sc. (Mathematics and Computer Applications Statistics) (Al-Nahrain University, Iraq)

I have an abiding, passionate and almost obsessive interest in teaching mathematics that began when I first encountered it after studying master’s degree in the department of mathematics and computer Application College of sciences Al-Nahrein University. Since then, my teaching career has encompassed a substantial student diversity, including international high school, college, and university students from different cultural backgrounds, both one-on-one and in classroom settings. In several instances, students were in my class only because they were required to take it. Despite this, I instilled in many of them a respect for the subject and a grasp of the fundamental principles. Because of my technical experience, I am comfortable using technology and traditional teaching methods to communicate mathematical concepts to students and have successfully done so throughout the past years.

I earned my PhD from the school of mathematical sciences Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). I wrote my thesis on developing approximate and numerical methods for solving fuzzy differential equations, ultimately showing the advantages of the approximate methods over numerical methods for solving fuzzy initial value problems. While pursuing research in these areas, I also worked as a Teaching Assistant (Tutor) at Universiti Sains Malaysia for grand assistants from the school of mathematics, teaching freshman undergraduate students from other schools, elementary calculus and giving sophomores their first taste of how to write formal proofs in another course. Through it all, I graded tests and homework assignments and was praised for the precise and intuitive way I explained concepts to students. Also, I was able to help more than five postgraduate students those years who were struggling to do their research work.

Since I joined the School of Quantitative Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2015 as a visiting senior lecturer, has developed excellent skills working in the position of the academic staff in the school. In the past years of my contract, I have obtained a high-performance score between 96.18%-100% involving publications, postgraduate supervision, school committees, research projects, consultation, teaching, and conference committees. Also, I am an effective leader of two research projects and a member of three involving local grants (Fundamental Research Grant Scheme) and international grants (Matching Grant). I have enrolled vital interests in developing and analyzing approximate analytical methods for solving fuzzy differential equations, partial differential equations, delay differential equations, fractional differential equations, fuzzy integral equations, and fuzzy mathematical I have published many articles in journals and conference proceedings indexing in Scopus and Wos. Beyond my research interests, I am an influential reviewer in many high-quality journals and international conferences.
