Description

This programme has been designed as a platform for statistics enthusiasts to explore various statistical methods while being equipped with key skills to solve real-life problems. The structured courses which include inferential statistics, regression modelling, and sampling techniques, among many others, will empower students to conduct analytical research methods. Therefore, the students able to identify and work with patterns in data, eventually interpreting the results, and making informed conclusions. Students are then able to translate information into meaningful insights that can be used by companies and organisations in various areas like banking, finance, data analytics, insurance, business consultancy, manufacturing as well as in the government service. Ultimately, students are well prepared for the data-driven world.

Aims

The aim of the programme is to provide graduates a broad education and skills in mathematics and statistics techniques that appropriate and may assist them in solving problems that related to the focused industrial areas.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

  1. To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a concept, theories, and research related to industrial statistics.
  2. To apply critical, creative thinking skills and problem-solving strategies using theories, concepts, principles, and methods of statistics in addressing key issues in a variety of situations and industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and other sectors.
  3. To apply and integrate the knowledge and skills of statistics relating to the various situations and issues.
  4. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills in a professional relationship with colleagues and society.
  5. To demonstrate effective communication and interaction using various platforms (oral, writing, and visualization).
  6. To demonstrate competency in the use of statistical software, and able to integrate a wide range of resources and digital technology to address issues and practice related to statistics.
  7. To be able to perform statistical analyses critically and analytically, while evaluating and solving problems scientifically.
  8. To demonstrate a capability to lead and work together with high accountability in executing responsibilities.
  9. To be adept at managing information and seeking job opportunities and life-long learning for enhanced professionalism.
  10. To demonstrate entrepreneurial skills by using statistical skills in planning and making a decision.
  11. To practice professionalism, noble and good ethics in fulfilling the industrial needs of the country.
