SQS NEWS: On April 24, a team of academic staffs from the department of Decision Science led by Dr. Syariza Abd. Rahman took part in an academic programme review meeting at the School of Distance Education, Universiti Sains Malaysia Penang. Such periodic review of B. Sc. Hons (Decision Science) programme is essential to assure that the academic contents taught to students is consistent with the qualification framework and meet the needs of the marketplace. There has been a discussion as well on the need to increase awareness of the Decision Science programme since it is unique in the Malaysia context with its emphasis on applied hands-on problem-solving approach.

“This proposed revised programme structure is moving in the right direction! Most of the proposed subjects are currently needed and marketable, and in fact well aligned with the IR 4.0. The balance among the components of technology, statistics and mathematics is thoughtful…” commented the academic assessor, Associate Professor Dr. Noraida Abd. Ghani.
