MASTER OF SCIENCE IN DATA ANALYSIS (COURSEWORK)

The programme aims to produce graduates who master data analytical skills and are able to create knowledge from data, and solve real life problems in multidisciplinary fields.

This unique programme implements a holistic approach in data analysis by including both quantitative and qualitative aspects, plus variety of methods through hands-on approach.

This programme will produce data analyst who is capable of analysing a diversity of data that is very much needed in the industries specifically in research and development (R&D). Quality research findings triggered the innovation and this is important to become a developed nation by 2020.
  • To produce graduates capable of analysing quantitative data (numerical)and qualitative (text, narrative & visual)

  • To infuse graduates with the knowledge, skills and creativity in data analysis and solving problems

  • To develop graduates to be competent in conducting research

  • To enhance the graduates’ ability to effectively express ideas verbally and in written form.

  • A Bachelor’s degree with honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of at least 2.75; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of 2.00 to 2.74 and relevant work experience; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree with honours in Pure Sciences or Science or Technology or any other professional fields from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of at least 2.50; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree with honours in Pure Sciences or Science or Technology or any other professional fields from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of 2.00 to 2.49 and relevant work experience; OR

  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the University Senate; AND

  • Fulfil the English Language requirement as set by the University Senate.
