PROGRAMME INFORMATION (UG22)

Programme Description
Students will use modelling and prediction, then turn both masses of everyday information, and more specialized quantitative and qualitative data, into actionable insights. By using mathematical models and analytical reasoning, students able to examine problems in areas such as operations and supply chain management, information technology, marketing, finance, management, manufacturing, and economics. Students will learn how to solve these problems by using a number of mathematical techniques, including optimization methods (linear, integer, nonlinear), computer simulation, decision analysis, artificial intelligence, data-mining, and more.

Programme Structure

1st Year

33 credit hours consisting of compulsary courses, TWO in Mathematics and TWO in Statistics, THREE university core courses, TWO courses from core program including programming using Visual Basic, English course, and a co-curriculum course which should be taken every semester.

GENERAL ADMISSION (KPM Matriculation/Foundation)

Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit (GRADE C) in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia OR credit (GRADE C) in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia July Paper

and pass in History (SPM 2013 and above) in SPM

and pass in KPM Matriculation / UM Asasi Sains / UiTM Asasi with a minimum PNGK of 2.00

and obtain at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

and meet the specific requirements of the programme

Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit (GRADE C) in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia OR credit (GRADE C) in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia July Paper

and pass in History (SPM 2013 and above) in SPM

and pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum PNGK of 2.00 and at least obtain: Grade C (NGMP 2.00) for General Studies AND Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in 2 (two) other subjects

and obtain at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

and meet the specific requirements of the programme
GENERAL ADMISSION (STAM)

Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia OR Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia July Paper

and pass in History (SPM 2013 and above) in SPM

and obtain at least a Jayyid Grade in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)

and obtain at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

and possess a diploma or other qualifications recoqnised by:
  1. the Malaysian Government and approved by the university Senate;
  2. MQA and recorded in MQR

SPECIFIC ADMISSION (KPM Matriculation/Foundation)

Obtain a minimum PNGK 2.30 at Matriculation / Foundation level

and at least Grade C at Matriculation / Foundation level for the following subjects: Mathematics / Physics / Biology / Chemistry OR at least B- (NGMP 2.67) at STPM level for one of the following subjects: Accounting / Economic / Information Technology

and obtain at least a pass (Grade D/7D) in Additional Mathematics at SPM level

and obtain a pass in English at SPM level OR obtain at least Band 2 in MUET

SPECIFIC ADMISSION (STPM)

Obtain a minimum PNGK of 2.30 at STPM level

and at least Grade C at STPM level for one of the following subjects: Mathematics S / Mathematics T / Physics / Biology / Chemistry OR at least B- (NGMP 2.67) at STPM level for one of the following subjects: Accounting / Economic / Information Technology

and obtain at least a pass (Grade D/7D) in Additional Mathematics at SPM level

and obtain a pass in English at SPM level OR obtain at least Band 2 in MUET
